hmm.. i just felt like putting another blog. was supposed to register for classes now and pay in the afternoon, but i got sidetracked here.. my face is still burning from yesterday's excursion, which reminds me, NEVER forget sunscreen and hats.

well we went to barber's point yesterday, walking/hiking the trail for about 2 miles till we reached the end point where we took a swim. now that i think of it, the last time i went there was last year. so much life-changing changes happen then, but except for the missing log bridge, the place is still the same: a trail beside a cliff, down below to the left is the sea clashing against the rocks, on the right is the barren mountain, and above, the sky, clear as ever. my need is the same too. there's only one thing i wanted the most then and now, a cool nice shade.

so as we walked back another 2 miles without water, the heat was frying us. before i get the urge to faint, an suv greeted us. in it were 3 blond girls asking if there was a road up ahead. we told them that the only way to get to the end was by barefoot. they looked confused so we asked them where theyre headed. the moment i heard North shore, i just burts out laughing. this is Barber's point, its the END POINT in the WEST of the island, and North Shore is located, well, um, NORTH!! how in the world they ended up there, i have no idea. seriously! these blond people... (oh i dont discriminate people from hair color, but they were indeed blond).. somehow that little incident worked for me for i was momentarily energized from thinking and laughing at their dumbness.

well anyways, the moment we reached Ed's truck we immmediately cramped inside it, taking shelter from the sun. it was a 3-passenger-seat truck and there were 6 of us adults. how we arrived there at first, three of us were sitting at the back of the truck but it was ok then since it was early morning, but now it was high noon and the sun was fully charged. so.. we had an hour drive with all of us inside the truck, and after the drive we all cant feel either our butt or our legs. but noone complained since nobody dared to sit at the back cause we were all terrified by the sun.

which reminds me, camus' "the stranger" novel was about why a quiet man shoots a person seven times for a no or absurd reason. it wasnt cause the man hated him or for any personal gain, it was because of the intense heat that drived him to. nooo.. hes not insane or murderous.. it was just really because of the sun. hmm..yes.. this is yet another extreme case from the effects of intense heat aside from skin cancer. tsk tsk

well its been a long journal.. and the only lesson i could come up with is that sun can be soo unforgiving so NEVER forget sunscreen and hats. yup.
